Scientific research project

Assoc. Prof., one of the faculty members of the Department of Sociology within the İzmir Probation Directorate. Within the scope of the scientific research project on examining the effect levels of probation practices in the rehabilitation processes of adolescents dragged into crime, carried out by Aykut ÇALIŞKAN, on 27.03.2024, the Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences, Prof.Dr. A marbling workshop event was organized with the participation of Tuba Gültekin and graduate students.

One of our department faculty members, Assoc. Dr. Gül Özateşler Ülkücan contributed to the “Women’s Cooperatives and Gender Equality” panel held on March 1, 2024 with the presentation titled “Gender-Based Equality and Women’s Cooperatives”. The panel, which took place with the participation of women’s cooperatives, continued with a forum with the cooperatives with the participation of our teacher, as stated in the program.

109th Term District Governorship Course

Our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nebiye Konuk Kandemir, who was invited to the 109th Term District Governorship Course organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, participated in the program with her presentation titled “Analysis of the Social Structure of Our Country in Terms of Our Traditions and Customs” on August 21, 2024.

Volunteering Activities

Within the scope of the volunteering course, DEU Sociology Department students will meet with one of our department’s faculty members, Assoc. Dr. He participated in UCİM promotion and volunteering activities on March 1 and March 6, 2024, under the leadership of Nilüfer ÖZCAN.

Our department students, Assoc. Dr. Accompanied by Füsun Kökalan Çımrın and within the scope of social responsibility, she participated in the tangerine harvest at the LÖSEV farm.

Students of our department conducted a field study for the purpose of ethnographic research on Afro-Turks living in the Aegean Region within the scope of the Research, Methods and Techniques in Social Sciences course.
